Recovery Thoughts

Recovery is not merely what one does but is how they think. Does one find life meaningful or are they still struggling with disillusionment and discontent? A substance is not the problem but the sign of life not being lived but avoided. When there is a mindset of virtue, where one discovers connection, where fear is acknowledged and overcome, where time is seen as precious, then the journey of recovery begins. Recovery is not a formula or a set of rituals, nor simple study, or attendance at various groups. It is far more. It is discovery of one’s true nature which had been masked and its understanding unable to be known within the immense fog.
